COVID-19: Update as of April 28, 2020
Effective May 12, 2020 all offices and departments within Fairfield Township reopened to the public and resumed normal business operations. Administration hours on site reverted back to 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
Due to the introduction of the COVID-19 pandemic and Governor DeWine's orders, the Township closed all public buildings and facilities effective March 23. The Fairfield Township Police, Fire, and Service Departments were and are essential personnel and continued to operation during normal working hours and 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The non-emergency Butler County dispatch number was made available (513-785-1300) with 911 encouraged for emergencies.
The Department of Planning & Zoning continued to provide assistance during the shut down. Permits and information were being accepted electronically and final inspections were still performed. Nuisance properties were able to be reported using the Township website which still stands.
Resources shared included in March as follows: "The Butler County Health Department (BCGHD), Ohio Department of Health (ODH), in coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring the 2019 novel (new) coronavirus (COVID-19). Governor Mike DeWine holds daily press conferences and is another source of important information.
The Ohio Job and Family Services Department is working to assist all those dealing with unemployment.
The ODH has opened a call center to answer questions regarding COVID-19. The call center will be open 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and can be reached at 1-833-4-ASK-ODH (1-833-427-5634)."
The Fairfield Township Board of Trustees and Administration encouraged and still encourage all residents to continue to practice proper social distancing, washing of hands, and a common sense approach when venturing out into the public. As businesses reopen, it is still vital to remain calm and reach out if assistance is needed. The Township continues to be present and is here to support the community. Please contact us at 513-785-2247 if we can be of assistance.
