Heroes Park Master plan

In 2018-2019 Shafers Run Park Park was revamped with a new playground system, walking path, and updated dog park. In the interest of continuous improvement, the Millikin Road Park was renamed to the Heroes Park of Fairfield Township and is also receiving it's own updates and additions.

At the February 18, 2020, Board meeting, the Trustees approved an official Park Master Plan. This plan includes a Veterans Memorial, upgraded play area, and amphitheater.  The playground equipment will be ordered by the end of February with installation hopefully occurring late Spring.

Efforts for the Veterans Memorial are underway.  On March 24, 2020, the volunteer Veterans Memorial Group will launch an official Community Awareness and Fund Raising Effort.  In January the Township submitted a request for over $200,000 in funding from the Biennial State Budget and hopes to have success and partnership in bringing the Veterans Memorial project to full fruition.

Other changes at Heroes Park include the addition of Pickle Ball lines to the tennis court, the removal of an old frisbee gold course, and the resurfacing of the walking path and basketball court.  In addition an Eagle Scout Project added a wall on the tennis court fence to allow for individual practice.

Stay tuned as the park develops over the 2020 year.  Fairfield Township continues to display it's proud history and bright future!
